Taking the Common and Creating the Uncommon
My belief is that art is all around us. Even in the ugliest of cities on the ugliest of days, certain scenes can be captivating if you see past the ordinariness and grasp the geometry, colors, shadows and placement of subjects in the urban world. For the most part accidental, these scenes are places that are so common we tend to see right past them.
My goal in art is to bring the common, the ordinary and the discarded into a new light. By creating art that showcases the most common of scenes and uses the most common of materials I hope to allow people to know that simple forms of beauty are really a lot closer than the mountains or the coast. They’re all around us.
